STERLING PARK DISTRICT – DILLON HOME MUSEUM

Interpretive signs for the Sterling Park District in Sterling, IL. placed on the grounds of the Dillon Home Museum.

Produced by Linnea Koch in conjunction the Sterling-Rock Falls Historical Society.

Challenge: to produce two signs, one to explain the steam engine and one to explain the caboose located on the grounds behind the museum. The signs were created as part of the celebration of the Sesquicentennial of the arrival of the railroad in Whiteside County.

Audience: Visitors and residents interested in trains and the history of Sterling, IL.

Challenge: to produce a sign explaining the history of Lincoln's speech given in Sterling in 1856. The sign was created as part of the Sesquicentennial celebration and statue dedication in honor of his visit to the community
